Usually, the “/log” page acts as a simple changelog. But because i’m too lazy to update it, and also because it’s not really useful here, I instead decided to use this page as some kind of “archive” of this cyber-raft’s history.
This website is one of the many fractured archives in my life. Building it back required navigating my very chaotic (sub)domains on the Web Archive, but also digging into my computers’ backups for screenshots. In some cases, I had to date files which lost their “modified/created” metadata using their content and context. I basically had to forensic and OSINT my own ass.
Enjoy my “chaos garden” life path.
This page is still built like a changelog: start from the bottom of the page for chronological order.

Another cool gadget, I had: I made a p5js canvas which spawned smoke grenades when double clicking: if you then clicked on it, it would create an Unicode smoke:
You can try it here (it's a little buggy, and only available on desktop). Click on grenade's pin to start it, double click to spawn another one. You can move them by holding click on it :

Finally switched the blog to pelican. So I had two pelican instances, and a bunch of static files:
The blog was finally moved to “txt.”
I also started with the whole “monospace” style:
A cool little quirk: the favicon was actually a (very slow) animated gif, which displayed a small wood cabin over a day:

I Tried to change the “art.” style: I was big on breadcrumbs and mimicking file systems:

Finally decided to work on the main domain: I was deep in Procedural Generation at the time, and wanted to make some “Unicode Art”.
For a while I had “scaffolding” in place of the planned mountains: I have no idea how I generated that, but looking back I still find this hilarious:
So I created a texture using GIMP and textured brushes:
And generated “layers” made of Unicode blocks with a gradient from that heightmap:
Later on, I changed the color scheme and added trees: the result is actually quite nice:
Originally, the characters were actually there in html and “colored” using CSS: to reduce overhead I replaced it with a image version.

The Ghost instance is still on the “blog.” subdomain, but I haven’t posted in awhile.

The website was finally up, and first article published. The main domain was actually empty: I only used the “blog.” subdomain.
I posted my “art” as blogposts,, and actually only posted one : Pratos @ FÊTE DE LA MUSIQUE
According to my first blog post (in french), it ran on a Raspberry Pi, with the Ghost CMS (in its infancy) in a docker container. Also, I was bitching about static websites, because I didn’t want to have to generate my content and send it through ssh. Life is funny sometimes.
The Web Archive didn’t saved the styling, unfortunately (thanks Ghost, I guess)
